Assignment
For the removal of micropollutants from wastewater (medicine residues, etc.), we have developed the Aurea® technology in collaboration with Wageningen University. It is a two-stage process that combines biological purification and ozone treatment. The synergy between the two process steps results in an energy-efficient technology that removes a wide spectrum of micropollutants. The next step in the development towards practical application is pilot-scale testing. The internship consists of a combination of conducting pilot and lab research and a
literature study on Aurea® technology. The internship can start as soon as possible, preferably in March or April. Optimization of operations, troubleshooting, sampling, analyses, data processing, data interpretation, and collaboration with the rest of the team are the main tasks within the pilot and lab research. The literature study focuses on gathering information from relevant sources and writing a non-scientific article.
